Overview
We are pleased to invite proposal(s) for augmented reality (AR) projects that relate to a site-specific mural in Downtown Vancouver, "Heron’s Dreamscape" by Priscilla Yu. Selected works will be exhibited as part of a curated program during the 2025 SIGGRAPH conference, August 10-14.
This initiative aims to explore how site-specific digital media can expand the narrative capacity of public artworks, deepen community engagement, and reframe our collective experience of urban environments.
Selected AR works will activate the mural through digital interventions that reflect on the evolving relationship between physical murals and interactive, digital storytelling.
Project Scope
- Develop an augmented reality (AR) experience that responds to Priscilla Yu’s "Heron’s Dreamscape" located in Downtown Vancouver.
- The AR project should reflect on the themes, context, and physical presence of the mural, and consider the potential of digital interventions in public space.
